dear diary!
whoa its been a pretty long time since i last blogged. well, my life has been all about work work work!
i got this job real quickly through some contacts, but the job scope really sux, cos its tiring mentally and definitely very challenging. however, the people there are awesome. they're what makes me like the place. they r funny, definitely very helpful and patient, and nice to chat with.
to be optimistic, i can say that the challenging element of the job gives me very important lessons, not like those mundane office job such as filling in excel sheets ( no offense, but i think its really boring!). my job is so not boring that sometimes i can sorta-hyperventilate a little, eg terrible customers who piss me off/shout at me for no reason/try to be funny blah blah.
there are so many parts that i dislike about the job. firstly, the working hours are so long. ive counted, i could work for 12 hrs sometimes too! secondly, break times are infrequent. you get an hour's break a day, so that means one meal a day! good right, can save money and lose weight. NOT. third, i work a 5 day week, BUT my off days are not fixed. gone are the days when i can have saturday outings or lazy sundays. but maybe, the good thing is that on weekday when i am not working, it is less crowded in the streets. what ive been really sad about is that i have had to miss many gatherings, some really important ones too! so its a trade-off, work for lack of social life. like drop to zero. seriously.
despite many sucky parts, im glad for many small things. my workplace is situated like in a food haven. the possibilities are endless. food is good, although a little expensive. also, because it is a lil crowded, toilet queues are really long. so this also means long 'break' times. cheat! lastly, its in the east. i pity those who live in cck or amk or sengkang, so freakin far!
yeap that's a brief introduction. shant go into too much details, cos blogging about work is not really a good thing, esp if colleagues/subordinates read about it!
so im planning to make my off days as productive as it can be. i'll start 'touring' around places in sg, for shopping/chilling whatever, to meet up with as many friends as possible, and also to do some solid planning cos when my contract ends, i'll barely have 2 weeks before uni starts. hectic shitz!
it's funny how i wanted to work when i was in school. now that ive known how it feels like, id rather go to school you know. even without income as a student, the mental toll and responsibility/stress is much less. you feel carefree. i really dont mind studying maths all over again. after all, in tuition, im kinda learning maths all over again...
it's a really small small world. in my workplace alone, ive found my sec school mate, i realised two of them are friends with another good friend of mine, blah blah. i also got to meet people from various nationalities, and learnt some rly funny stuff. i'm looking at the raffles batch sweater and as the days pass, im feeling the rafflesian identity go further away from me step by step. i feel so detached now. it's like there's this distant feeling. did i even belong there in the first place? okay we shant' proceed to long dreary conversations.
i really dislike the infrequent off days. there are some outings planned like 3 months in advance, concerts and important functions to attend to. i get jitters on the 1st of every month because im xing my fingers that my off days coincide with those important days!
this after a levels period has definitely been a huge period of change for me. ive thought about most things and done some resolutions and settled many underlying issues. but there's still one thing i can't get out of my mind. its this particular someone. get him out or at least let this lead to somewhere, either nowhere, or some-concrete-place-where. my brain doesn't have enough capacity to store all that. ive been trying to 'delete' him permanently, but it always seems to come back. WHYYYYY. this is definitely not infatuation.
okay tmi now. im looking forward to my off day and lazing my ass off and coffee-jointing and being ready for what the world has to offer.
